We use the construction there is / there are to describe that something exists, is present, is situated somewhere. To form it, we use the word “there” and the verb “be”. “Be" changes depending on the tense and the singular/plural. The exercises on this page are recommended for beginners. They will help you practise positive, negative and question sentences with there is / there in the simple present tense. If you are not yet familiar with the present simple, it is recommended to begin with the conjugation of “be”, the formation of affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences in the present simple with all verbs.
