We form the present continuous with the auxiliary verb "be" (am/is/are) and the main verb plus -ing ending: am/is/are + doing / reading / looking / standing etc. When writing, you should mind the correct spelling of a gerund. In negations, we add “not” after the auxiliary verb. The exercises on this page will enable you to practise the formation of affirmative and negative sentences in the present continuous tense. They are designed for beginners and essential for the further study of this verb tense.
