It is not always easy for english learners to understand how to use the present perfect, especially if there is no analogue in their native tongue. You should remember that it is the present, not the past tense. We use the present perfect to say that something has just/recently happened or something has already happened a number of times so far and may happen again. We also use it in questions with “how long”, if we have a stative verb. The exercises on this page will help you practise using the present perfect tense in sentences. If you are only beginning to learn this verb tense, we advise to start with the rules and exercises on the formation of the present perfect. Please see the links in the related topics block.
